WHITE TIE EVENT VS BLACK TIE EVENT
Okay, you’ve received the invitation and it states WHITE TIE or BLACK TIE attire. Every man will receive this at one point of there lives, so whats the difference you ask? Do you wear a suit or a tuxedo? Do you wear a regular tie or a bow tie? Cuff links or not?
White Tie Event
A white tie dress code is usually required for an event such as a gala or a big budget wedding and requires the most formal outfit available such as a black or navy tailcoat, high-waisted trousers with a satin seam running down the outer of each leg, a waistcoat, a white wing-collared dress shirt, a white bow tie, gloves, cuff links and, to top it all off, a black top hat, black leather shoes and a cane.
Boutonnieres should be real – no fake flowers.
Ditch the wristwatch — pocket watches are the traditional timepiece for a white tie event.
Black Tie Event
Black tie is one step down from white tie.
This look generally consists of a classic black tux with satin trims on the jacket and sides of the trousers, a cummerbund, and a black bow tie.
A well tailored tuxedo will last you years of mileage and many a formal event, this is where zac_mens comes in handy.
